Rowhouse I:

A Contemporary Townhouse Renovation

Location – Park Slope, Brooklyn, New York

Completed – 2024

This renovation reimagines a narrow unit within a historic brownstone for a young and growing family. The design focused on improving functionality while maintaining a calm and intentional aesthetic throughout the home. Careful planning allowed the compact footprint to feel open, flexible, and well suited to the family’s evolving needs.

A relocated kitchen became the centerpiece of the project, designed to maximize adaptability and daily use. At its center is a custom cooking and dining surface that can be collapsed and repositioned as needed. This flexibility allows the space to shift easily between cooking, dining, entertaining, and creating additional room for the family’s large dog and future children to play.

The renovation also included a new primary bathroom with a clean and understated material palette. Throughout the apartment, the design balances simplicity with practicality, creating spaces that feel efficient, warm, and highly livable. The result is a thoughtful renovation that supports both present routines and future growth.
